About Leigh Swanborough

Hi and thanks for stopping by. I am Leigh!

A few years ago (right in the middle of our first UK lockdown with two small children), I was diagnosed with very aggressive breast cancer. Why am I telling you this? Because it reinforced to me that life is short! When life suddenly hangs in the balance every moment feels like a blessing. As a passionate health and wellness advocate, it reconfirmed everything I already knew about sleep and the reasons why I chose to retrain as a sleep consultant all those years ago. If there is one thing you need to know it’s this:

“Life is too short to spend it sleep deprived!”

All members of your family deserve to wake up feeling great every day. Why? Because sleep is fundamental to your family’s health, wellness and happiness. It’s a non-negotiable. Why spend your days in a sleep-deprived fog when help is out there? You don’t need to suffer unnecessarily. Life is too short!

If reading this sounds familiar, then I challenge you to take action.

Don’t look back at this time and regret you didn’t do more.

Still not convinced?

Here are some reasons why sleep is so important for you and your family:

Cognitive function

For your children sleep is vital for their cognitive development. Did you know sleep neural pathways are formed along with memory consolidation when they are sleeping?

Immune System:

Sleep is also vital for a properly functioning immune system. Poor sleep will result in more illness and during this covid pandemic, you want to be giving your family the best possible defences against germs and diseases.

Decision Making:

Lack of sleep can impact decision-making. Suddenly everyday life and tasks can seem overwhelming when you are sleep deprived.

Mental Health:

Poor sleep can impact mental health and well-being. Did you know you are 60% more emotionally charged when you are sleep deprived? That means everything feels 60% more magnified and most likely worse when you are sleep deprived. It’s not you…it’s the lack of sleep.

Safety:

Sleep deprivation can lead to poor concentration, confusion and slower reaction times which puts both parents and children at risk. How often do you get into a car when you are sleep deprived? It’s a scary thought.

Happiness:

A well-rested family will feel better, interact better and have closer bonds and more meaningful relationships. Sleep enables people to feel deeper joy and happiness in everyday life.

Teaching your child to sleep is truly the best gift you can give them along with the rest of your family.

Lets get your family on the path to better sleep
